Coaches & Trainers

TR Stoneback
Seattle, WA, resident TR Stoneback has been providing Coerver® Coaching programs for players, teams, clubs, and associations in the Northwest since 1995. A Coerver® Master Coach and the Executive Director of Coerver® Coaching NW, he directs all team- and individual-training curriculum for AKFC, leads and trains AKFC staff and advises our coaches in everything from team formation to models of development and tournament selection. Over the years he has worked with a number of talented young athletes, many whom have gone on to play at the collegiate and professional levels. He's also trained several players who've represented the United States at the youth- and senior-National Team levels.

Troy Letherman
Currently the Technical Director for Matanuska Soccer Club, Assistant Director for Coerver® Coaching AK and the President of the United Anchorage Youth Soccer League, Troy Letherman serves as a head coach for AKFC teams, leads in-state training camps and assists with player-identification and team-formation for the program. He holds a NSCAA National Diploma, as well as additional licenses and credentials from NFHS, USSF, UEFA and the Royal Dutch Football Academy (KNVB).

Katie Miyake
While still playing at a highly competitive level, Coerver® Coaching NW Assistant Director Katie Miyake works with AKFC teams and players on a regular basis throughout the year. As a player, Katie spent her university years taking the field for NCAA Div. I Cal-State University Bakersfield and then Portland State University, before moving on to FC Muri in Switzerland. Since returning to the United States, she’s played for both the San Diego Gauchos and Sunwaves, as well as the Seattle Sounders Women.

Dan Jenkins
After seven years spent coaching recreational soccer in the Matanuska-Susitna Valley, Dan Jenkins began with Matanuska Soccer Club in 2006, and since that time has served as the head coach of the Polaris 97 girls, as well as assisting with many of the club’s academy training sessions and other development programs. He has played competitively for the past 31 years, including four years with Regis University (NCAA Division II), and currently holds licensing from the USSF. Though he continues with MSC, Dan now also works as a team trainer for AKFC squads and serves as a staff coach for Coerver® Coaching AK.

Andrew Burden
Our newest senior staff coach, Andy began playing seriously at the age of 13, signing with AFC Bournemouth on the south coast of England. He then went on to play professionally for Wimborne Town FC in the Wessex League and for Cove Rangers of the Highland League. After declining an offer to trial with professional club Montrose, he continued to play semi-professionally for clubs like Ringwood Town and Inverurie Locos, of the Hampshire and Highland leagues respectively. His coaching stops prior to moving to Alaska include turns at the helm of the Scotstown School Primary 7s (12-year-olds) as well as several Saturday- and Sunday Amateur League teams in both Scotland and the north of England. Andy is currently working with the AKFC 97/98 United boys as they prepare for the 2010 European tour.
