Q.  What does Coerver COE look for in players?
We look for several things when considering a player for our COE program as we are looking for players who have the potential of becoming high-level, competitive players. Throughout the tryout, players are evaluated on several qualities, including but not limited to:
1. Technical skill
2. Tactical awareness
3. Physical abilities
4. Psychological dimension

Q.  What happens after the last tryout?
At the conclusion of the tryouts, COE staff coaches review their notes and video footage of the tryouts. All of the coaching staff involved in the tryout process will then meet to discuss the squad choices and then the squads are given a final approval by the Director.

Q.  How long before we know what the outcome is?
24-36 hours after the final tryout day.

Q.  How will my child be notified about making the COE squad?
Players will be notified via our website and email.  If you do not provide a current (and legible) email address on the application form we will not be able to notify you.

Q.  What if a player does not get selected?
This in no way suggests that they are not a quality player, or that they should give up their hopes of playing soccer or even trying out for the COE next year.  It simply means that the COE staff coaches feel that there are other players better suited for the program. We offer other programs throughout the year that will help build skill and knowledge of the game.

Schedule
Tryouts kick off the new season and typically run for 3 or 4 weeks, beginning early November.  After tryouts are completed, there is a player/parent night to size the players for their kits, answer questions, and introduce the COE staff.  Winter training will then begin in December or January.  If the training starts in December, there is a 2 week break during Christmas and New Years.  After the winter sessions, there is usually a 3-4 week break before the spring festival.  Finally the players will get together one more time for the summer school in July or August. Click here for a detailed schedule.

Click here for a detailed schedule.

COE program Cost
Without sponsorships, the annual cost for the COE program is $600.00.  There is a payment plan of $200 initially and then $80 a month until balance is paid.  The cost of the program itself, is a 37% savings compared to signing up for each program and buying the kits.  We are seeking sponsorships so we can take some of the financial burden off of the COE families.  If you would be interested in sponsoring the program or sponsoring a student, please contact TR Stoneback at 206-478-3670.
